Ákos Szépvölgyi, Phd

Managing Director

He graduated from the University of Debrecen with a degree in regional and urban development geography in 2000. He then obtained his PhD in 2007 on the topic of the regional impact of the information society. Between 2000 and 2008, he worked as a research scientist at the Regional Research Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since 2008, he has been the regional director of the Hungarian Innovation Association. He has been the managing director of KDRIÜ Nonprofit Kft. since its establishment in February 2008. His main tasks include managing the company's operations, leading KDRIÜ projects, coordinating the regional innovation institutional system, and developing international relations.

Gabriella Baráth, Phd

Senior Project Coordinator

Gabi graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Pécs in 2000 with a degree in geography and mathematics. She then obtained her PhD in 2008 in the field of metropolitan relations in Pécs, at the Doctoral School of Regional Policy and Economics of the University of Pécs, and at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences of Paris 8 University. Between 2000 and 2011, he worked as a research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Regional Research Centre, and between 2011 and 2015, he was a member of staff at Kodolányi János College. He has been working at the agency since October 2015. She can be contacted on the following topics: domestic and international grant information, grant preparation, project management, social enterprises.

Hegedűs István

Senior Project Coordinator

István graduated from the Budapest Business School, Faculty of Finance and Accounting in Zalaegerszeg in February 2002. In March 2002, he started working for Balatoni Integrációs Kht. (later Balatoni Integrációs és Fejlesztési Ügynökség Nonprofit Kft.). He started his career as a project manager, managing domestically funded grant applications and participating in the preparation of regional development documents. Following Hungary's accession to the European Union, he was involved in the management of EU-funded projects. As an international senior project manager, he gained experience within the framework of several EU-funded programmes, such as the Life Programme, Life+ Programme, Intelligent Energy Europe Programme, Erasmus+ Programme, ESPON Programme and various interregional cooperation programmes (Interreg IIIB CADSES, Interreg IVC, Interreg Europe, Interreg Central Europe, South East Europe Programme, and cross-border cooperation programmes). From 2012, he worked as head of the International Cooperation Group and helped implement more than 30 international projects and cooperation initiatives until the summer of 2021.

He joined our agency in July 2021 and assists us in international projects and international cooperation.

Hegedűs Viktor

Senior Project Coordinator

Viktor earned his degree in Environmental Agricultural Engineering from Szent István University, followed by a diploma in Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at BME. With over 20 years of experience, he has a strong track record in executing both domestic and international projects. From 2003 to 2012, he served as the Managing Director at Közép-Pannon Terület és Gazdaságfejlesztési Nonprofit Kft., and from 2012 onwards, he continued his career by working with consultancy firms and project companies. Worked as a consultant at KDRIÜ in 2018, later gained project management experience in IT at other companies. As of 2023, he has rejoined the team. His primary responsibilities primarily revolve around project management and coordinating activities related to the Agency's projects.

About himself: He is a passionate environmentalist who enjoys dedicating his free time to the development of environmental projects. As a fervent supporter of the Fehérvár hockey team, he is a regular attendee at the team's home matches.

Vargáné dr. Gálicz Yvette

project coordinator

Yvette graduated from the Budapest Business School with a degree in tourism and hotel management, then obtained a master's degree in international economics and management from Corvinus University of Budapest (specialising in international economic analysis) and then completed a climate consultant training course at the University of Debrecen. She obtained her PhD in regional sciences in 2024, examining the role of tourism development. He has extensive experience in managing various domestic and European Union funds, has been working as a grant writer and project manager for more than 15 years, and has previously played an active role in numerous infrastructure and cultural development projects in the region. He joined the KDRIÜ team in 2023, where his main task is to implement and manage digitisation and innovation projects.

About herself: ‘I am family-oriented, so I spend most of my free time with my family. I also enjoy going on trips, going to the theatre, reading, and my hobbies are horses and horse riding.’

Gábor Kinizsi

project coordinator

Gábor graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2012 with a degree in Hungarian and aesthetics. He then worked for the Polgárdi Municipal Government as a personal secretary, event organiser and media manager. He then took a job at the Hungarian Football Association and joined our agency in February 2020. His main responsibilities include communicating national and international projects, preparing related content and image/video elements, and participating in project management.

About himself: ‘Since childhood, I have loved good stories, whether in video games, books, plays, films or series, and sport is my other passion.’

Paulusz Patrik

junior projektkoordinátor

Patrik graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pécs with a degree in commerce and marketing. In 2020, he obtained a web designer qualification to complement his studies. During his university projects, he worked on market research for Spar Hungary, and one of his projects received a special award from OTP. In 2022, he spent seven months as a marketing intern at Hilti Hungária Kft. He joined KDRIÜ in 2023 as a project coordinator.

Somogyi-Kiss Erika

project assistant

After graduating from the Secondary School of Economics, Erika obtained professional qualifications as a certified accountant and social security administrator. After obtaining her qualifications, she worked as an accountant for 10 years. She has been working at KDRIÜ as a financial manager since February 2016. Her main areas of expertise are the financial coordination of domestic and international projects and the accounting of tenders. Her responsibilities include participating in the preparation and implementation of domestic and international tenders and maintaining professional relations with international innovation organisations.

About himself: ‘In my free time, I enjoy going on trips and everything related to the city of PARIS.’
