On 29 July 2025 in Budapest STRIA delegation met the colleagues involved in the implementation of Integrated Transport Development Operational Program Plus (ITDOP Plus) of the National Development Center, Dr. András Kiss, head of department, and Tünde Turóczy, head of division. Gergely Gecse, railway transport advisor at the Ministry of Construction and Transport (MCT), also participated in the meeting.

Halfway through the PROMOTER Interreg Europe project, they have come to the conclusion that, ideally, the project should contribute to 1) the development of four disadvantaged Hungarian regions, 2) the development of transport in county rank cities where there are no trams or trolleybuses operating, 3.) the development of micromobility (shared bicycles and scooters, car sharing, etc.) at the local level, 4.) the more active involvement of disadvantaged groups in public transport, 5.) the strengthening of an integrated approach and the promotion of the complex nature of projects, 6.) the improvement of transport safety, and 7.) the development of smaller-scale transport or transport support projects.
The Agency has also been participating in two newly launched Interreg Europe projects since May 2025.
The RESONANCE project deals with the development of adaptive public lighting systems linked to transport (use of sensors, vehicle-to-grid energy provision solutions, real-time traffic information).
In the SMARTAUTO project, they primarily focus on providing higher quality services to rural areas with poorer access through multimodal and autonomous solutions. The staff of ITDOP Plus and MCT have assured us of their implementation and policy support for the above three projects.

The participation of the South Transdanubia Regional Innovation Agency in the PROMOTER, RESONANCE and SMARTUTO Interreg Europe projects is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary.
