AgriGo4Cities

In the framework of the AgriGo4Cities project we explore the potentials of urban agriculture for the application of community planning methods, social inclusion and the creation of a sustainable urban environment.

AgriGo4Cities (Urban Agriculture for Urban Change: Governance Models for Better Institutional Capacity and Social Inclusion) is implemented under the Interreg Danube Program in cooperation with organizations from 8 countries. between 01 01 2017 and 06 30 2019.

The project has three main objectives: integrating the participatory approach into decision-making processes, increasing the socio-economic inclusion of vulnerable / marginalized groups and developing a sustainable urban environment. In the course of collaboration, 11 partners (complemented by 5 collaborating partners) explore and apply the (gardening) potential of urban and urban agriculture to improve public institutional capacity and prevent the exclusion of vulnerable / marginalized groups. The innovative participative planning method contributes to the efficiency of decision-making, enhances cooperation opportunities and social inclusion. Using the international multilevel approach, the AgriGo4Cities project aims to become a flagship for a better governed Danube region.

Some of the partners, using the knowledge gathered and created in the project, are implementing a pilot for urban agriculture, testing the model developed by the partners. In doing so, it provides direct assistance to members of vulnerable / marginalized groups involved in the pilot, and develops actors in the public and civil sphere. The method developed and tested by the pilot will later be used for projects in other urban environments where the goal is to bring development for the community by strengthening social inclusion.
